Application to USF Justice is fixed and objective; it is one for all nations, regardless of people’s color, ethnicity, language, or culture. Although I am not Christian, I consider justice, morality, and humaneness to be universal values, which any good person understands and promotes. I know that I am one of those students who is willing and able to help University of San Francisco from the front end to achieve its goal, which is to “educate leaders who will fashion a more humane and just world.“ One does not have to be Christian to identify him or herself with such leaders of the future. I am attracted by the University of San Francisco for its intention to be America’s diverse learning community, because I would be able to communicate with different people from countries all over the world, which would give me experience in communication, and get me acquainted with various cultures. I, in turn, would contribute to the University’s diverse community, because I come from Indonesia. Although I am a Buddhist, I understand that in today’s rapidly changing world adaptation and responsiveness is vitally important. Thus, I am willing to get acquainted with and become knowledgeable in the Jesuit Catholic tradition. This knowledge would help me understand the faculty and the internal culture of the University better, and would enrich my knowledge about American culture as a whole. Because of the reasons stated above, and also other ones not mentioned in the paper, I believe that I am one of those students who support and would become part of USF vision and mission statements.
