Do Unto Others Interaction with other people has become a regular activity of nearly all people on the planet. We have to communicate with others everywhere, - our jobs, home, transport, shops, etc. And although there are many doctrines related to how a person should or should not behave him/herself in society, the greatest and most important rules and guidelines about what and how a person should do to society are within this person. Each person should respect the self, and therefore respect the society because the self is the compound of that society. Thus, a person should understand that he or she is an inseparable part of society, and he or she should treat society the same way this person treats him/herself. In other words, people should “Do unto others as you would have them do to you" (Luke 6:31). What unites us all is that we are all humans, regardless of our age, ethnicity, wealth, cars, jobs, and other attributes and parameters that people have invented to increase status. Ultimately, if a prince and a hobo are both washed, shaved, and put together naked, both would be the same humans, which proves that the statuses that people have invented are inappropriate when a person’s commitment before other members of society implemented. In other words, a person should treat other person equally well and kind, regardless of whether or not this other person is wealthy or poor, old or your, black or white. Many people think that the wealthier and more powerful people are superior and need literally no help from others, allegedly they have all kinds of valets do any job for them. However, s simple situation can prove this idea to be wrong. This wealthy powerful person can simply go to the kitchen and choke with water. What wealth can help him out in that situation if he or she is alone in there? Does he need a super trained servant to help him? He or she is a mere human being who can die because of a water drop, and that is why all people are made equal. It is the humanity that invented all the different statuses. And it would be a person’s obligation to help that poor man in the kitchen. Interestingly, the man who choked would be thankful even if a poor man saves him. The main idea about a person’s obligation before society is to treat all people equally, and do to them as you would want them do to you. Every person is a part of society, and by not helping society, people deprive themselves of help. Those who treat others badly, do harm to themselves, while those who do good to others, do good to themselves as well.
